How Hoppinger transformed HR and now saves up to 6 hours a week with HoorayHR
Jolien Schiphorst is People & Culture Lead at Hoppinger, a strategic digital agency that helps organisations with their digital transformation, covering both strategy and implementation. Within Hoppinger, HR plays a key role in supporting growth, development and a strong employee experience for a team of 80 staff members.
We spoke to Jolien about how Hoppinger, using HoorayHR, transformed an HR system that nobody was using into a tool that the whole team uses every day, and how this resulted in time savings of up to 6 hours a week.
About Hoppinger
Hoppinger is a strategic digital agency that helps organisations with their digital transformation, covering both strategy and implementation. Within Hoppinger, HR plays a key role in supporting growth, development and a strong employee experience. The team comprises 80 staff members.
The challenge: an HR system nobody used
Hoppinger’s previous HR system was too complex for a small team, which meant staff tended to avoid using it. Processes were carried out outside the system, and HR data, feedback and development plans were scattered across tools such as Teams and Notion. Every change to the software required external consultants at a relatively high hourly rate. Without a central hub for feedback, development and staff information, there was a lack of overview and control.
With our previous HR tool, we were constantly searching and switching between different systems. Nobody really used the system, which meant everything became fragmented. With HoorayHR, we finally have a single platform for our entire employee journey.
The switch to HoorayHR
Hoppinger deliberately compared HoorayHR with another HR tool and opted for HoorayHR: it offered a similar level of user-friendliness, but was considerably cheaper and included expense claims. Whereas the previous HR tool had been avoided, HoorayHR is now actively used throughout Hoppinger by the whole team. There is no longer any reliance on consultants for every change, and the implementation quickly led to an immediate impact.
A single system for the entire employee journey
With HoorayHR, Hoppinger brought onboarding, development, expense claims and performance management together in a single system. The interface is intuitive enough for staff to find their way around on their own: onboarding now takes around 15 minutes, rather than months of training.
From scattered tools to control over feedback and development
Feedback, targets and development pathways were previously scattered across various systems. They are now organised centrally within HoorayHR. Feedback rounds and development programmes are standardised and automated, and Hoppinger always has real-time insight into development and performance. The team can easily make adjustments to the software themselves, with rapid support available from the support team whenever needed.
What used to be complex and time-consuming is now intuitive and quick. Thanks to HoorayHR, we finally have a single platform for our entire employee journey.
In conclusion
For Hoppinger, HoorayHR is, above all, about having control over an HR system that the whole team actually uses. No more fragmented tools, no external consultants for every change, and finally a single central hub for the entire employee journey. Jolien lists the main benefits:
- A time saving of 4 to 6 hours per week
- A single system for onboarding, development, expense claims and performance management
- Onboarding in around 15 minutes instead of months of training
- No longer need external consultants for modifications
- Cheaper than the competition, including expenses
- Higher uptake: staff are now actively using the system
