Valentijn Zegwaart is responsible for “everything that happens on the work floor and everything to do with people.” Below, you can read about his experience with HoorayHR.

Managing 150 professionals using disparate systems and email
Before HoorayHR, Ubuntu Sport used an HR system that didn’t fit with day-to-day practice. Contracts were drawn up manually in Word, travel expenses were handled via email, and staff had to work out for themselves how much leave they had left. After spending six months trying to get to grips with the old system, the conclusion was clear: this doesn’t work for a growing organisation.

Why did Ubuntu Sport choose HoorayHR?
After comparing several providers, the choice fell on HoorayHR. Other providers wanted to sell a comprehensive and expensive package, whereas Ubuntu Sport was looking for something that works quickly, has transparent pricing and is suitable for both internal staff and a large group of external contractors. The implementation confirmed that choice: Valentijn supplied his data via Excel and was up and running within a week, without a consultant or a lengthy implementation process.
In two afternoons, I entered all the contracts, working hours, staff details and wages into Excel. I submitted the data, and within a week I was up and running on HoorayHR.
One system for 170 people
With HoorayHR, Ubuntu Sport has brought all its HR processes together in one place. Contracts are drawn up and signed digitally, expense claims go through a fixed approval process, and staff arrange their own leave and travel expenses via the app on their phones. What used to take half an hour per contract now takes five minutes. Approving travel expenses has gone from taking an afternoon to just fifteen minutes. Team leaders, HR and operational staff all work from the same system, without needing any prior explanation and without having to chase things up manually.
