Managing leave balances can be complex, especially when dealing with statutory and non-statutory days, varying expiry terms, and year-end transitions. With HoorayHR, this process is fully automated and made transparent.
Automatic calculation of leave balances
HoorayHR calculates all leave balances automatically—this applies to both statutory and non-statutory leave days. The correct expiry terms are taken into account, even when they span multiple years. As a result, there’s no need for manual calculations or individual checks.
You can set expiry terms for each leave type. Choose the default statutory expiry terms that are available out of the box, or create a custom leave type with its own conditions. This includes things like ATV, TVT, or other types of leave budgets.
Seamless transition into a new year
So, is it still necessary to prepare leave balances for the new year? No, that’s not needed! One of HoorayHR’s biggest advantages is that leave balances automatically carry over into the new year. When the new year begins, all leave balances are recalculated automatically. Leave from 2025 and earlier is carried over automatically, and any leave that has expired is removed.
Instant insight and better planning
On January 1st, the new leave balances are released automatically. Any remaining leave from the previous year is carried over correctly. This gives employees immediate insight into:
- how much leave they have available
- how much leave was carried over from a previous year
- how much room there is for planning
This provides employees with clarity and ensures that all processes run smoothly.
Easily make adjustments with leave mutations
Still need to make a change to a leave balance? It’s possible that an agreement was made with employees to let them carry over leave hours after all. In that case, it’s easy to make changes via leave mutations.
